Continuing Our Tribute to Art

Since our recent inception, we have shown a desire to honor local Cape Cod Artists by displaying their work throughout our newly renovated interior. Our commitment to supporting the Cape Cod arts continues as we exhibit Karen Cappotto, Thomas Aldren Dingman Watson and Francie Rudolph. These artists, all of whom have strong ties to Cape Cod, will contribute to this new phase of the on-going, changing art exhibition that can be enjoyed by all hotel guests.

Longtime summer resident of Provincetown, Karen Cappotto, is known for her multi-layered collages, incorporating paint graphite and ink. Ms. Cappotto focuses her work on creating images of place and natural settings that evoke various memories and sentiments unique to each viewer.  She is the recipient of numerous awards and accolades, including joint first prize in the 2010 International Picture Works Competition in Ireland. A local institution, the Schoolhouse Gallery of Provincetown, represents Karen Cappotto.

Ernest W. Watson and Aldren A. Watson, grandfather and father, respectively, began a Watson family tradition of artistry, one in which Thomas Aldren Dingman Watson carries on to this day. A graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, Watson’s works have been exhibited internationally and placed in corporate, museum and private settings. Working out of his own Thomas A.D. Watson Artist’s Studio in Truro, MA, Watson have come to be recognized most famously for his oil landscapes of Cape Cod.

Francie Rudolph’s work depicting natural and biological life cycles has garnered her both commercial success and critical accolades. Rudolph’s style integrates digital technologies with painting, photography and printmaking. Rudolph’s work has been published in The Boston Globe Magazine, The New York Times and Print Magazine. She has been commissioned by the John F. Kennedy Library, Harvard University and Teach for America to incorporate her unique artistry into their settings. Francie Rudolph is a graduate of Harvard University and is represented by the DNA Gallery in Provincetown, as well as Patricia Miranda Fine Arts in New York.

Your ticket to this innovative exhibition is free with the booking of your guest room. We invite you to enjoy all of the amenities that the Harbor Hotel has to offer, including the creations of these unique artists.
